*pack the night before
*pack a small snack/lunch box for kids (even if you stop along the way, it's nice to have just in case)
*raid a local library for books, CDs, books on CD to have an occupied trip
*have a bag of small toys within easy reach of the squirt so you don't have to do calestnics to reach for them!
*relax - if you're relaxed, squirts will be too
*have normal napping "materials" handy for little squirts so they may feel more comfortable to nap
While some of these may seem obvious, sometimes they go overlooked and the trip falls downhill by the time you're 2 miles down the road. And then, you can always plan and then the squirts decide to have their own minds and not work with you.
